To compensate for this we have structured our businesses as follows: Worldwide Lettings Limited This is a UK registered company that deals with all customer payment transactions. Once a deposit is received it is deposited into a client account until the final balance has been paid. Unlike many of our competitors, the property owner is then paid, in advance, for your holiday rental. This eliminates any risk of the property not been paid for when you arrive in Cyprus. Worldwide Lettings operates a Barclaycard Merchant account which handles all card transactions. Worldwide Lettings has no staff on its payroll and operates with the minimum overheads ensuring that it is always cash rich. Paphos Lettings This is a Cyprus registered company and is the trading company. All companies that deal exclusively with rental property in Cyprus are required by Cypriot law to be registered in Cyprus. Paphos Lettings only receives income once a booking has been paid in full and the owner of the property has also been paid for the rental. When you book your accommodation and flights it is very important that you pay at least £100 of the cost by credit card as this will give you financial protection. Please note, however, that debit cards and certain other cards (e.g. Diner’s Club and American Express) are not covered by section 75 as they fall outside the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
